Chatoyant College, Chatoyant College Interlude: Summer Break

Chatoyant College Interlude: 7: Dawn to Naomi

Yeah, most of the time that I haven’t been at work, I’ve been spending at Pru’s house. Allergy meds help, but I still have a hard time breathing by the time I get ready for bed at night. The problem is Princess is just too sweet—she wants to love on me all the time. To get into my room, I have to either make sure she’s distracted with food or attention from my parents, or push her with my foot while I open and shut the door. That is one determined cat.

I attached a picture. Isn’t that the ugliest squished face you’ve ever seen? I don’t know if she’s part Persian or what. Their vet thinks so, but they haven’t done a DNA test.

The visit with Rico was wonderful. Pru and I had fun visiting museums and restaurants while he was at work, and when he wasn’t, she went and did her own thing (I think she has arty friends in the city, but I didn’t really ask) while he and I hung out. And that’s all the details you’re getting. But it was really good to be able to spend time with him again.

There isn’t anything to tell you about my job, really. Nothing scandalous goes on (I know what you’re thinking). It’s really boring, to tell you the truth. I don’t think Mr. Newsome really expected to have enough work even for a part-time secretary, he just gave me the job as a favor to my dad. And maybe because I type really fast.

I don’t know. Maybe he thought he’d have enough work for 20 hours a week, or maybe it would have been enough work for a teenager, and he just didn’t expect me. Because I am, as you know, awesome.

If you really don’t want to see your stepmom, you could always “accidentally” plan a visit to me at the same time. I’m sure Princess would love you, and I know you get along with my aunt. I’d have to ask my parents, of course, but I think they’d be fine with you spending a couple of nights here. Let me know—we can make secret plans.

Good luck with the transfer stuff.
